3. Thanks to all of you for your hard work and
dedication throughout the year. Your
diligence in submitting your eligibility lists was greatly appreciated. Special thanks to all of those Athletic
Directors and Principals who allowed District II to utilize their facilities in
the operation of the various championships.
Hosting is not an easy task and your willingness to work with the
committee is a key to the success of the championships.
POINTS OF INFORMATION:
1. Informational
items from the May PIAA
· The approval of the second reading of the interrupted contest rule change in football by a vote of 29-1.
· The 17-8 vote against the advancing of the football season by one week unless the district postseason tournament is to begin on or before the 76th day of the Fall Sports Season.
· The 15-9 vote against the advancing of the first week of the basketball season for the 2004-2005 year.
· The posting of the six month full time position of Assistant Executive Director of the PIAA at a salary range of $35,000 to $40,000. This position will temporarily fill the vacancy created by the maternity leave of Melissa N. Mertz.
· The wrestling steering committee was scheduled to meet again on May 17th in order to address several outstanding issues.
2. The District Committee is in the process of preparing bid specifications for the procuring of all of the medals and plaques for the various district championships. That bid will then be circulated and the committee will select a successful bid in the near future.
3. Thanks to everyone who attended the annual banquet and business meeting in April. If you have any suggestions for improvements please dont hesitate to contact any member of the committee with your input.
